However, Britney Spears seems to have forgiven her mother, Lynne Spears. She invited her to the 42nd birthday party to bury the hatchet. A source told People that Britney is still hurt that her mother could not do much for her, but as she has very few friends, the singer needs her family.
The source told People, “Her mom does love her. There is no doubt about that.” Lynne Spears is “very apologetic to Britney” and “takes full blame.”
The source added, “Lynne is really making an effort to be in Britney’s life. Britney likes spending time with her. They have a complicated relationship, but it seems they both need each other.”

Before reuniting for her 42nd birthday, Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne Spears, met in May 2023 after three years. To mark the occasion, Britney Spears penned a heartfelt post for her mother.
Sharing a childhood picture, Britney wrote, “My sweet mama showed up at my door step yesterday after 3 years…it’s been such a long time… with family there’s always things that need to be worked out… but time heals all wounds!!!”
Britney Spears added, “And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT!!! I love 💕 you so much!!!” The singer and her mother had coffee together after 14 years.
