‘Alien: Romulus‘ is a sci-fi thriller and horror movie that is directed by none other than Fede Alvarez, which takes us back to the roots of the ‘Alien‘ franchise. Following the release of the film, Fede has been doing various interviews discussing the film and its teaser.

Fede Alvarez Shares His Experience Of Pitching ‘Alien: Romulus’ To Ridley Scott
Fede Alvarez was nervous about Ridley Scott during their first Zoom call. He explained during an interview that, during the call someone from the studio instructed him to not pitch the story but rather just explain to him Ridley) the “vibe of what you wanted”.
Fede continuously mentioned that he was “super nervous” throughout as he was going to tell Ridley how he feels about ‘Alien: Romulus’. Fede continued, about how he gave him the gist of the whole thing.
Moreover, the hilarious part was when Ridley responded to him: “I gave him the vibe, and in the end, Ridley goes: ‘But you don’t have a story.'” Fede added, “I was like f*cking hell.” The ironic part is, that Fede was strictly asked by the studio person to just give the vibe of the project and not the story, while Ridley specifically pointed that out. He did have a story but he didn’t talk about it.

Ridley Scott Thinks The Movie Is “F***ing Great”
The movie Alien: Romulus won’t be released until next year but Ridley Scott is already a big fan of the movie. The director of the movie had an interview with Guillermo del Toro at the DGA Latino Summit, where an update was given on his reaction to the sci-fi movie.
He shared his reactions with Director Alvarez and said: “He walks into the room and he did say, ‘Fede, what can I say? It’s f—ing great,” as recalled by Alvarez.
Fede further continued, “For me it was like… My family knows it was one of the best moments of my life to have a master like him, who I admired so much, to even watch a movie I made… but particularly something like this… and talk to me for an hour about what he liked about it. One of the best compliments he said was, ‘The dialogue is great. Are you the writer?’ Yes!”
Alvarez said, that Scott’s reaction was indeed important to him as he has produced the sequel and even if he didn’t like it, Fede was ready to face his criticism as well. ‘Alien: Romulus‘ shall be released on 16 August 2024.
