“Come On, Don’t Come In Here With That Energy”: Jennifer Lopez And Simu Liu Shut Down A Reporter For Asking About Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors

Jennifer Lopez and Simu Liu are making headlines, but not for the reason a reporter might have hoped. The incident took place during a recent press junket in Mexico City for their Netflix action film ‘Atlas.’

The pair shut down a question about Lopez’s rumored marital troubles with Ben Affleck. Their response showcased a strong sense of support and highlighted the sometimes intrusive nature of celebrity journalism.

The incident unfolded when a reporter, seemingly unaware of the sensitivity of the topic, asked Lopez directly if the rumors surrounding her marriage to Affleck were true. Without missing a beat, Simu Liu, Lopez’s co-star, stepped in with a firm, “Ok, we’re not doing that,” he said.

“Thank you so much. We really appreciate it…come on, don’t come in here with that energy,” he added. Lopez followed suit, leaning forward and delivering a pointed, “You know better than that.” The exchange resonated with many fans. Additionally, while celebrities live much of their lives in the public eye, there’s a line between genuine interest and intrusive questioning.

Lopez and Affleck have a long and complex relationship history, and rumors about their marriage have been swirling for some time. By shutting down the question, Lopez asserted her right to privacy, particularly during a promotional event for her latest project.

The focus should ultimately be on ‘Atlas,’ the film that brought Lopez and Liu together. Trailers hint at an adrenaline-fueled action adventure, and the chemistry between the co-stars is undeniable. Lopez plays a brilliant data analyst who uncovers a dangerous conspiracy.

Whereas, Liu portrays a skilled martial artist who helps her navigate the world of espionage. From the glimpses offered in the trailer, the film seems to be a high-octane action adventure with a touch of mystery. Additionally, it is set to release on Netflix on 24th May 2024.
