People were shocked when DC announced that it will no longer move forward with the second installment of Dwayne Johnson starrer superhero film ‘Black Adam.’

According to a Variety report, Johnson pitched a sequel to DC last year where his character and Henry Cavill’s Superman would face each other. “Dwayne went around everyone, which didn’t sit well,” a source said.

The film, however, underperformed at the box office. His relationship with Warner Bros. was further strained after he pushed for a producer credit on the animated film ‘DC League of Super-Pets‘.

He also requested a tequila bar at the ‘Black Adam‘ New York premiere featuring his Teremana brand. This irked the executives as the film was rated PG-13. “His demands increased and the returns just weren’t there,” a source said.

The former WWE wrestler took to social media to give his comments on these developments. “James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling”, he said.

However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”
