Doja Cat made a head-turning entry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Met Gala right after a weekend of avant-garde fashion in New York City. Known for her odd fashion choices and statements during the Met Gala events, the singer managed to get some spotlight with her outfit this year as well.
Doja Cat walked the red carpet in a soaking wet white t-shirt dress as she covered her breasts with her hands while ascending the green stairs inside the gala. Speaking to ET on the red carpet, the 28-year-old singer explained the “poetic” significance of her unconventional choice.
“I know that people were going to do flowers, so my flower of choice was the most-used flower and it’s cotton, and so I wanted to do a white T-shirt because a white T-shirt is timeless and felt very poetic and I knew it wasn’t really going to blend in. I really don’t like to blend in,” the singer said during the interview.

Doja Cat Was Actually Soaking Wet At The Met Gala
For the paps at the Met Gala 2024 wondering if the singer had actually wearing a wet, white dress, with no catch, she cleared all the doubts. “I’m actually wet right now. I’m not supposed to give the secret but it’s hair gel. It’s all hair gel and it’s all over,” she said.
With a full-fledged event ahead of her where she was also stated for a performance, Doja Cat said she has anticipated remaining wet throughout the Met Gala. “I’m performing, it’s a show tonight. I’m probably going to sit in the chair wet all night,” she said.
Before reaching the Met Gala venue, the singer was spotted leaving her hotel with Vetements designer Guram Gvasalia. As she got into the car, Doja Cat was seen sporting a white towel that stopped right above her knees, and a matching head wrap.
