Karaoke is one thing that music fanatics across the world naturally enjoy. While it takes no talent whatsoever to be a karaoke star, many musicians also look at it as a fun thing to do. But there are exceptions to it, and the fans may just get a tad bit disappointed to know who they are. Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish may never be belting out karaoke tunes, as they have clearly given a no-go for the concept of karaoke.
The stars were speaking at a recent roundtable discussion on ‘Off Script’ with The Hollywood Reporter when they talked about a variety of things, one of which was karaoke. Here’s what the music sensations said.

Billie Eilish And Dua Lipa Are On The Same Page About Karaoke
Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa were sharing the stage with Olivia Rodrigo, Cynthia Erivo, Julia Michaels, and Jon Batiste, during a roundtable discussion on ‘Off Script’, when they revealed that they don’t find Karaoke to be a fun concept. The discussion came up when the stars were asked about their go-to karaoke songs.
While Julia Michaels was the first to answer as she mentioned the Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ as her favorite karaoke pick, Cynthia Erivo chimed in with Tina Turner’s ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’. Olivia Rodrigo said she loves to Karaoke on Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’, which everyone agreed was a fantastic choice.
Jon Batiste said her karaoke jam is Eminem’s ‘Lose Yoursel’f. Dua Lipa, however, said she’s not a great fan of singing at karaoke. But when still asked about the song she would choose if she had to do it, Lipa said it would be ‘I Do ‘Changes” by Tupac.
When it was Billie Eilish’s turn, she dropped another bombshell – she’s never done karaoke. Eilish was also on the same page as Lipa as she asserted her aversion towards karaoke. “I don’t like to sing,” she said as she recalled that the only time that she has done it was on her own “karaoke box” that she had in her childhood.
“I’m just like, ‘Haven’t you heard enough of me singing onstage?’ I don’t know, like I was at a party and they had karaoke and they were like, ‘Billie you should do it.’ And I was like, you don’t need me to do that,'” Billie Eilish said.

Dua And Billie Open Up About Their ‘Barbie’ Albums
In a different part of the interview, Dua Lipa also talked about the creation of ‘Dance the Night’, her Grammy-nominated hit from the “Barbie” soundtrack. Lipa said that she was on tour at the time, but still collaborated with producer Mark Ronson and traveled to New York City to meet with director Greta Gerwig to understand her vision.
“Greta was saying how inspired by disco she was,” Lipa explained. “I just thought about disco and the community it brings, and the way it brings people together. It was always a genre of music that was such a release when things weren’t going well in the world,” Lipa said.
“And so ‘Dance the Night’ was created specifically for Barbie’s best day ever, which then results in her thinking about death. So it’s really about those dualities of life and being able to merge the two together,” she added.
Meanwhile, Billie Eilish also shared her experience associated with “Barbie” as she talked about her creative struggles before co-writing ‘What Was I Made For?’ with her brother Finneas. “I honestly was concerned that it was over for me,” she said. “We’d been trying and it wasn’t doing what it usually would do in me. I was honestly like, ‘Damn, maybe I hit my peak and I don’t know how to write anymore?’”
But a call from Gerwig that she got in January changed everything. “Greta saved me, really, honestly,” the pop star said. “It brought us out of it and immediately we were inspired and wrote so much more after that,” Eilish said.
