Dua Lipa Thanks Her “Cool” Parents For Their Constant Support
Dua Lipa kicked off her hosting debut at ‘Saturday Night Live‘ with a warm welcome from the Studio 8H audience including her parents cheering for her. The singer said she is grateful for being back at 30 Rock, as she reminisced about her US TV debut eight years ago on The Tonight Show which was also hosted at the same iconic venue.
“It’s great to be back in 30 Rock. I actually made my US TV debut eight years ago, downstairs on The Tonight Show. So this building does feel a lot like home,” Dua Lipa said. She also acknowledged her parents’ presence in the audience. “And especially tonight, because my parents are here in the audience.”
Describing her parents as “kind of cool“, Lipa also narrated a rather funny incident at a club where she unexpectedly ran into them while out with friends. “One night, I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at 3 in the morning. And who do I bump into but my parents!” the ‘Levitating‘ singer said.
“Which was embarrassing,” she continued. “Because the last thing you want to see when you’re super high and drunk off your ass is your daughter,” Lipa added, drawing laughter from the audience.
