Dwayne Johnson was welcomed to the WWE platform with cheers and applause. But soon enough, it turned into the competition that it is. Johnson did not shy away from trash-talking about Jinder Mahal, as he used his trademark catchphrases and blended them with some self-deprecating humor.

While he was taunting Mahal, Dwayne Johnson did not hesitate to take a swing at one of his own films. “Nobody likes you, and you’re not funny. As a matter of fact, if you were one of the Rock’s movies, you would probably be Baywatch,” the actor said, referring to his opponent Jinder Mahal.

Mahal also wasn’t someone who could be easily rattled. He fired back, stating that he has never watched ‘Baywatch’. The Rock stayed undeterred and continued to mock the movie. “Well, nobody else did either,” he said.

Baywatch’ was released in 2017, starring Johnson in one of the lead roles alongside Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Though it looked promising, the movie failed to make waves at the box office, earning a mere $58.1 million in North America.

Johnson almost broke character as he continued the tirade, and gave in to laughter. However he quickly regained composure to take another jab at the film. He has been taking the criticism for ‘Baywatch‘ quite sportingly since the movie’s release.

Johnson was given the Razzie award for his role in the movie, which he gracefully accepted as part of the joke. He even took to social media to joke about it, as he embraced the honor. “Let me go ahead and take this L right on the chin for Baywatch,” he wrote in a social media update after receiving the award.

While Johnson’s WWE return came as a delight for many, he said this is not all. The Rock hinted that might grace the WWE stage again. As he wrapped up the show, The Rock said that he wished for a showdown with Roman Reigns. Though he did not directly confirm anything, fans are speculating that this could mean they may get to see more of him on the WWE stage.
