Everybody has a special place for their mother in their hearts whether it’s real mother or your mother on sets. Similarly, Dylan Sprouse who played the role of Zack Martin in ‘Sweet Life Of Zack And Cody‘ wasn’t willing to mess up with his co-star and on-screen mother Kim Rhodes.
Dylan shared his thoughts behind his decision to not make any scripted fat-shaming jokes about his mother Rhodes when she was pregnant.
Dylan Sprouse Refused To Use Fat-Shaming Lines For Kim Rhodes
Sprouse while talking with SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live said, “[I] just don’t think fat jokes are funny. There’s a better joke somewhere else unless you’re talking about yourself.”
He continued, “Unless it’s self-referential, which I find is fun. But if you’re pointing the finger at people and talking about how they look, I just don’t tend to find that very funny in general. I think there are better jokes.”
Considering Dylan’s age, he was just 14 or 15 when the incident occurred. When Cohen asked him, how he gathered courage to deny a producer. Sprouse laughed and answered, “I mean, you’d be amazed at what having your show at 11 will do for your confidence.”
Cohen joked, “You were a benevolent king,” and Dylan agreed with a laugh, “Yeah, I was a benevolent king. Yeah, exactly.”

Kim Rhodes Praised Dylan And Cole for Not Using Offensive Line
Kim Rhodes who played the role of Carey Martins also appreciated the young stars during an interview with Back to the Best podcast in November.
Rhodes said, the duo defended her throughout the show and it’s still one of her favourite memories from the production. She explained, “Dylan had a line that was a fat joke, and he just kept skipping over it. It was like in the middle of a chunk of dialogue, so he kept skipping this laugh line and skipping it and skipping it and skipping it.”
When the director said cut and asked him to say the line, said Rhodes during the interview: “And he goes, ‘I would not disrespect any woman that way, let alone this woman. You write something funny and I’ll say it.’” Kim Rhodes fondly remembers them as her “little men.”
