On completing 19 years of togetherness, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi took to Instagram to share some relationship wisdom with their fans. In a light-toned video on Instagram, the couple took questions from fans about everything from relationship advice to peanut butter preferences and answered them impeccably.
The video was posted from Ellen’s account with the caption: “19 years ago today Portia and I started dating, and what better way to celebrate than by answering some of your advice questions. Happy anniversary, Portia.“

Ellen And Portia Answer Fans’ Questions On Instagram
Answering one of the questions about issues getting sleep with a newborn baby, DeGeneres responded with a deadpan “Condoms” in a humorous tone. De Rossi also chimed in, jokingly saying, “Can you drug your baby?”
Sharing their top tip to keep a relationship intact and flourishing, the couple dished out a simple advice: never lie. Portia said never lie “about anything.” “Ever. Don’t ever lie,” agreed DeGeneres.
De Rossi emphasized said honesty is as important as it can get, even though the lack of it may seem harmless in certain situations.

The couple also took a playful banter at each other’s choices and underlined how it is important to be truthful, even if it’s about something as basic as fashion. “Like, gee, does this sweater look good on me? Not really. You know, maybe go for something else right?” Portia added.
DeGeneres also said that it is important in a relationship for both partners to understand that neither one should be taken for granted, and should be complimented regularly. “You shouldn’t take someone for granted. I tell [de Rossi] she’s pretty all the time. I mean, she’s not but…” Ellen said.

19 Years Of Togetherness For Ellen And Portia
The couple navigated several other topics with ease as they discussed the basis and navigations of their relationship dynamics. A question about peanut butter preferences got DeGeneres in the mood for jokes again. “I’m bi when it comes to peanut butter,” she said as she concluded the video on a light note.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in August. The gay couple has been together for 19 years now, counting the four years that they dated.
DeGeneres had taken to Instagram to pay tribute to 15 years of their marriage. “To my wife of 15 years,” she wrote. “I fall more in love with you every day. My life is blessed because you’re in it. Happy anniversary,” she had written.
Just a few months back, de Rossi surprised DeGeneres with a vow renewal, in what was supposed to be a a birthday party for the latter.
“You don’t have to say anything at all but when I was thinking about what would make my birthday really special, apart from being with family and friends, it was reminding you that you’re the most important thing in the world to me,” she said, referring to DeGeneres, in an emotional speech at the event as she came wearing a wedding gown.
