Ellen DeGeneres is a name synonymous with television talk shows. She starred in the sitcom ‘Ellen’ for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award. Her popularity skyrocketed after she started hosting the talk show, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ from 2003 to 2022.
Nearly five months after that show went off the air, the 64-year-old has announced a new project. Titled ‘About Time For Yourself…with Ellen’, this one will be a docu-style series. Keep on reading if you want to know more about Ellen’s upcoming new series.
Ellen DeGeneres Announces A New Show
The 64-year-old ended her long-running popular talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in May this year. Since then, Ellen has been away from the limelight and enjoying her break.
She has now returned to the world of television with her new docu-style series ‘About Time For Yourself…with Ellen’. The YouTube series follows DeGeneres as she keeps herself occupied with new hobbies while she is unemployed.
DeGeneres released a short teaser to promote the show. “Hey everybody, how you doin’?“, she asked her fans. “Lately, I’ve been taking some time for just myself, away from the cameras, and I’ve been having such a great time, I thought I would share some of what I’ve been doing with you.”
While she was enjoying her hobbies, Ellen asked her wife Portia De Rossi to “get the camera!” According to the series description, “ In this new series shot at her home, Ellen shares her own attempts to try new things and make a little me time in her own very Ellen way.”
‘About Time for Yourself…With Ellen’ is an eight-episode series that will show DeGeneres learning hobbies like crocheting, bird watching, making cards, etc. It will release on her YouTube channel on October 22.

DeGeneres’ Show Ended After 19 Seasons
Ellen became a household name thanks to her talk show which started in 2003. After successful 19 seasons, the show went off the air in May this year on an emotional note.
She said that the show “forever changed my life”; she also addressed the fact that she was not able to say “gay” when it began as gay marriage was not legal in the US.
“Now I say ‘wife’ all the time,” she said with tears in her eyes. “Today is not the end of a relationship, it’s more of a little break,” she continued.
“You can see other talk shows now. If I’ve done anything in the past 19 years, I hope I’ve inspired you to be yourself – your true, authentic self, ” she concluded.
