At the time Elon Musk was forced to buy Twitter, his company had to pay $90 million to the Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz law firm. This was for defeating his bid to walk away from his $44 billion buyout. However, now the Tesla CEO thinks that $90 million was way too much.

In his lawsuit, Musk has accused the law firm of exploiting Twitter. They accepted huge “success” fees from departing Twitter executives in the final days. Elon Musk says that the $90 million payout was “unconscionable“. “Wachtell arranged to effectively line its pockets with funds from the company cash register while the keys were being handed over to Musk,” read the complaint.

The Twitter Lawsuit Spree Continues

The Twitter Lawsuits Continue After Elon Musk Buys The Company

Elon Musk wants his excess money back from the Wachtell law firm. Apparently, the law firm made an agreement with Twitter’s chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde. They planned to charge Elon Musk in excess beforehand.

However, this is not the only lawsuit that Elon Musk and Twitter are involved in. Since Musk’s buyout, the social media platform has been facing a number of lawsuits. Minor ones include landlords, vendors, and consultants who are accusing Musk of manhandling their bills.

But one of the biggest lawsuits filed by Twitter is against Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta. Right after they launched Threads, Elon Musk handed them a legal notice threatening a lawsuit. The letter accuses Meta of making a copycat app after hiring former Twitter employees to learn trade secrets. So will the Elon Musk- Mark Zuckerberg fight ultimately happen in a courtroom?
