The takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk has led to quite a buzz in social media. Not only this, but the recent takeover has also resulted in the reduction of almost half of its workforce. There have been many different reactions to it, both from fans and celebrities. From putting up a price on the blue tick on the platform to reports of many celebrities deleting their accounts, there are many controversies surrounding Musk’s acquisition.
Completing his acquisition of this $44 Million purchase, Musk tweeted “The bird is freed“, referring to Twitter’s bird logo. His reference was to point out that he wants to have better control over the content that can be posted on the platform. His purpose is not money, but to make humanity better, or so he claims.

Is Elon Musk Charging Money From Twitter Users For Sending Messages?
As mentioned in a recent report by the New York Times, Twitter’s very new CEO brought out a new feature, soon after its purchase. According to this, Twitter users will now have to pay a certain amount to send direct messages to celebrities or public personalities. Musk recently announced that Twitter’s income has decreased in recent years. And this seems to be a move in order to create income for Twitter.
Relating to this, Elon Musk tweeted, “Despite the fact that nothing has changed with content filtering and we done everything we could to placate the activists, Twitter has seen a large reduction in income as a result of activist organizations lobbying advertisers.” Not long after the purchase, Musk also seemed to have fired almost half of its workers including its chief executive officer.
Musk To Increase Twitter Revenues
Elon Musk took to Twitter this Friday, talking about the massive drop in revenues, and blaming activist groups for it.
As mentioned in Wionews, “Late Friday, the Head of Safety and Integrity at Twitter, Yoel Roth, took to the social media platform and appears to have confirmed that at least 50% of the workforce has been impacted by the company-wide mass layoffs.“
