It has been five years since the HBO drama ended. But the show has captured the hearts of many and so has Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys Targaryen. The actress looks back at her journey as Daenerys in conversation with People.
“The more distance I have from ‘Game of Thrones’, the more I can quantify it,” Clarke says. “… When I started, you don’t know what you’re doing, you don’t know what you’re surrounded by and you don’t know what you’re taking part in.” She continues, “Now, as more and more time goes between it and me doing it, the more I’m like, that was incredibly special and that was incredibly rare.”

How ‘Game Of Thrones’ Played A Part In Emilia Clarke Launching Her Production Company
The ‘Me Before You’ actress now owns her own production company Magical Thinking Pictures. Clarke reveals that it was the behind-the-scenes proceedings of ‘Game Of Thrones’ that inspired her to have her own company. She adds that the experience helps her work and it also opened her eyes to the behind-the-scenes processes.
“Oh my God, I really understand how the sausage is made now,” the actress says with a laugh. “It makes me see even more just how lightning in a bottle that was and how fortunate I was to have that as part of my experience as an actor.” Clarke adds at last, “I was just incredibly, incredibly lucky to have had that experience, 100 percent.”
