Nicholas Hoult Lost Several Big Projects In A Row
Tom Cruise personally called Nicholas Hoult to play the antagonist in ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One‘, which is the seventh installment of the franchise. He even accepted the offer which was finalized in January 2020.
According to Variety, in May 2020, he had to leave the project because its filming schedule was clashing with the series ‘The Great.’ “Then I had to drop out because I was already attached to do some more of ‘The Great,’” he said.
He also revealed that he had screen tested for ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ and ‘The Batman.’ “I screen-tested for ‘Batman’ and didn’t get it. Screen-tested for ‘Top Gun,’ didn’t get it”, he said.
The actor did not disclose the role he had auditioned for in ‘Top Gun‘. But it was either Bradley Bradshaw (played Miles Teller) or Jake Seresin (played Glen Powell).

Hoult Recently Appeared In ‘Renfield’
Hoult was recently seen alongside Nicholas Cage in the vampire action comedy film ‘Renfield.’ Written by Ryan Ridley and directed by Chris McKay, the film is partly inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel ‘Dracula.’
Hoult plays the role of R. M. Renfield, the servant of Count Dracula. He has been serving his master for years and is very loyal to him. The film was released theatrically on April 14 this year.
Critics’ response to the film has mostly been mixed but audiences have been warmer towards its horror comedy treatment. Hoult will be next seen in the gothic horror film ‘Nosferatu.’
