Taylor Swift Inspires Bryce Dallas Howard’s Character’s Dorkiness In ‘Argylle’
On February 2, 2024, Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa will kick the asses of agents of a spy syndicate, saving the world in Matthew Vaughn’s ‘Argylle’. Bryce Dallas Howard plays a writer named Elly Conway who makes a living writing about espionage thrillers.
Elly gets involved in a spy mission to help keep killers at bay with the help of Aiden, played by Sam Rockwell.
Recently, rumors went wild that Taylor Swift has written the recently released ‘Argylle’ novel due to its many resemblances to the author and her real life. A Scottish Fold in a Bag with the obsession of Argyle sweaters made the Swifties believe it.
Recently, during ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Bryce Dallas Howard clarified that Taylor Swift is in no way associated with ‘Argylle’. She said, “We can’t pretend she was involved.” She added, “The reality is [Swift] was in many ways a great inspiration. She is a cat lady.”
The ‘Jurrasic Park’ actress continued, “She’s got this awesome backpack with a cat in it that she walks around with. She loves a good argyle sweater, and there is a sort of unapologetic dorkiness about her. That’s a little bit like what my character is like.”

Matthew Vaughan Addresses The Rumors
Since the ‘Argylle’ novel came out, Taylor Swift’s fans have started connecting the dots by drawing parallels between the singer and Elly Conway, the author. Like Swift, she has a Scottish Fold whom she carries in the bag; the author is red-headed like the actress in Swift’s short film ‘All Too Well’. Taylor has sold argyle sweaters as merchandise during the TV ‘Red’ era.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Matthew Vaughn said, “I’m not a big internet guy, and it was actually my daughter who came up to me—this is the power of celebrity and the internet—and said, ‘You never told me Taylor wrote the book!”
The director continued, “And I’m looking at her going, ‘What are you talking about Taylor Swift wrote the book? She didn’t write the book!’ And I was laughing because I was like, ‘It’s not true! She didn’t write the book!’ But my daughter was convinced of it.”
