How Henry Cavill Persuased Netflix To Give Him The Role Of Geralt?
Henry Cavill has exited as DCU’s Superman, but it is well-known how he lobbied hard for the part of the fabled monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. The most obvious reason is Cavill being well versed in the realm of fantasy, as he was already a devout fan of ‘The Witcher‘ franchise. Series creator Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich met Cavill even before the casting and was quite taken with Cavill’s fandom for the world of ‘The Witcher‘, as she “loved his passion and enthusiasm.” She and the team explored all possible avenues but eventually cast Henry as Geralt.
While it would take some getting used to with Liam in Geralt’s armor, Cavill himself has quite a year to look forward to. He will be seen in Matthew Vaughn’s spy-thriller ‘Argyle‘ and Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’. Cavill will also spearhead the ‘Highlander‘ reboot directed by Chad Stahelski.
