Nicolas Cage Talks About MCU
Nicolas Cage has done all kinds of films in his long and successful career. This includes the superhero flick ‘Ghost Rider.’ However, over the years, his opinion on the overcrowded genre has changed.
While accepting the Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award at Miami Film Festival, Cage called Stan Lee his “surrealistic father” as he named himself after one of Lee’s characters called Luke Cage.
“I understand what the frustration is. I get it. But I think there’s plenty of room for everybody. I’m seeing movies like ‘Tár.’ I’m seeing all kinds of artistic and independently driven movies. I think there’s plenty of room for everybody,” Cage said.
When asked about whether he would ever do a Marvel film, he responded: “I don’t need to be in the MCU, I’m Nic Cage.” In the 1990s, Cage was supposed to do a Superman film with Tim Burton but the project never materialized.
