Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton‘ has emerged as quite a popular show over time. Other than its stellar cast and the dreamy backdrop, the show is also known for its romantic and steamy sex scenes. While the aspect may have earned the show a heavy audience, it has not entirely fared well for the the casting director of the show.
As the audience now eagerly awaits the release of the show’s fourth season, Kelly Valentine Hendry has been receiving some X-rated audition tapes. In a recent episode of the ‘Should I Delete That?’ podcast, the casting director Hendry revealed that the videos she’s been receiving are eerily reminiscent of adult films.

Talking about the plethora of X-rated audition tapes she has received since the release of the third season, Kelly Valentine Hendry said, “It’s every day… I get the most unbelievable videos, unsolicited. It’s sex basically, it’s not actual sex but it’s quite punchy. It’s not nudey pictures, but not far off.”
The 47-year-old casting director added that her inbox is constantly “90 percent” full of emails from hopeful actors eager to join the racy period drama. Speaking to the podcast hosts Alex Light and Em Clarkson Hendry noted that many of these senders are vying for the role of Sophie Beckett, the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.
She mentioned that the fervor is heavy even though she never officially confirmed anything about casting or the prospect of the role in question. “One audition tape arrived with a ‘heavy-duty’ banner of a woman dressed in period costume, large enough to hang off scaffolding. It’s a bit sad, really. I don’t understand it,” she said.

Speculations About ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Are Heavy Among Fans
Fans of ‘Bridgerton’ have heavy speculation about the narrative that season 4 will bring to light. The highly believed and shipped theory has Benedict’s love story with Sophie at the center of the narrative. The prediction has gained traction after Collider reported a Netflix casting call for a “major recurring role” of a character described as plucky, resourceful, and with trust issues.
The character, scripted as an East Asian female, would also involve nudity and scenes of a sexual nature. Though the character was labeled “Emily,” fans were quick to theorize she could be Sophie Beckett.
While Netflix is yet to announce a release date for Bridgerton season 4, showrunner Jess Brownell has already hinted that the series is on a “two-year pace,” suggesting a 2026 release.
