“I Will If He Does”: George Clooney Says He Would Go Back To TV If Donald Trump Quits The Election

George Clooney does not back down from a fight. Amid the buzz of US election campaigns, Donald Trump attempted to tackle the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ actor, calling him a “fake movie actor”, and suggesting Clooney should go back to television. The actor responded to Trump’s attack by proposing the Republican Party’s representative should also back down from the elections in return.

In the middle of the Democratic Party’s campaigns, Clooney stated that Joe Biden should quit as the party’s representative in the elections due to health issues. Biden withdrew from the presidential race in July, replaced by Vice President, Kamala Harris. The ‘Wolfs’ actor applauded Harris’ entrance followed by Trump’s attack on Clooney’s involvement in the elections. Here’s how he has responded to Trump’s dig at him.

Following the premiere of his crime thriller ‘Wolfs’, along with Brad Pitt, George Clooney appeared on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The host immediately discussed the actor’s role in Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the Presidential race and Donald Trump’s July post on Truth Social.

The Republican representative had written, “He’s [George Clooney] turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything?… Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!”

Clooney replied to the talk show host, “I will if he does.” Suggesting Trump should also withdraw from the US election, he said, “That’s a trade-off I’d do.” Jimmel chuckled at Clooney’s response and encouraged the actor to do another op-ed to suggest Trump stepping down, saying, “It worked once, why not try it again.”

The New York Times published an op-ed in July with George Clooney where the actor stated that Joe Biden should step down as the Democratic Party’s representative. The article read, “This is about age. Nothing more.” Jimmy Kimmel stated that his article had a huge impact on the Presidential election. Clooney replied, “There was an awful lot of people.” Many delegates of the Democratic Party pressed for Biden’s withdrawal.

However, Clooney encouraged people to focus on the admirability of the former President’s actions. “It is very hard to let go of power and President Biden did something very extraordinary.”

Humorously, Kimmel added, “You took a big swing, and thank god you hit that ball out.” Laughing, the actor too replied, “It could have gone very bad.”

The ‘Ticket To Paradise’ actor is a strong supporter of Kamala Harris and also recently praised Taylor Swift for endorsing her.
