Chris Pratt has made a name for himself playing the role of superhero Star Lord in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ franchise as well as the ‘Avengers.‘ However, the franchise has reached its conclusion with the third installment, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘, which was released recently.
It is the last film of its director James Gunn with Marvel who was hired last year to head DC. Earlier Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista also expressed their thoughts about leaving the franchise. However, Pratt is still interested in continuing the role. Let’s find out what he said.
Chris Pratt Wants To Continue Playing Star Lord
In an interview with Total Film magazine, Chris Pratt showed his interest in continuing to play Star Lord after James Gunn’s tenure with Marvel comes to an end with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3’.
“It would be strange to continue [Star Lord’s] story without James,” he said. Pratt said to continue telling the story, “it would really be important to honor what he’s done in the first three films and to honor what the fans have grown to love about the character and not simply do it because people might show up to pay for it, you know?”
He added, “I don’t want to be cynical in the approach and if that’s the case, I just wouldn’t do it at all. So maybe down the road if something makes sense I would do it but it would really have to check a lot of the right boxes.”

Zoe Saldaña Won’t Reprise Gamora’s Role
Earlier this month, Zoe Saldaña who played Gamora in the franchise, made it clear that the third installment will be her last film with MCU. “I don’t think this is the end for the Guardians. It is the end for me, for Gamora,” she said.
Prior to that, Dave Bautista (who plays Drax) also said that he is glad that he won’t be playing that character anymore. “I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him. But there’s a relief [that it’s over],” he said.
The wrestler-turned-actor added, “It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role. The makeup process was beating me down. And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy — it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”
