Linda Evangelista is not letting go of life anytime soon. The supermodel recently revealed that she beat breast cancer twice in the past five years. One of the richest supermodels in the world opened up about her fight with the disease to The Wall Street Journal.
The Canadian fashion model started her career in the 1980s. She was one of the most accomplished and influential models of the time. Her name and value resonate in the statement she once said, “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day.” This style icon has been winning over breast cancer for the past five years now.

Linda Evangelista Opens Up About Her Battle With Breast Cancer
Linda Evangelista first encountered breast cancer in 2018. “It was detected in my annual mammogram,” she told WSJ. The supermodel posed to the lenses of famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel as she opened up about her first fight with disease.
“The margins were not good, and due to other health factors, without hesitation, because I wanted to put everything behind me and not to have to deal with this, I opted for a bilateral mastectomy. Thinking I was good and set for life. Breast cancer was not going to kill me,” the model talks of the first time she fought the disease.

Linda Evangelista Acknowledges An Uncertain Future
Linda Evangelista’s breast cancer returned a second time in July 2022. “Dig a hole in my chest,” she told her oncologist. The 58-year-old recounted how she felt that she knew how to do it. “I don’t want it to look pretty. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. Do you understand me? I’m not dying from this,” the supermodel had said to her doctor.
The runway icon has confessed to an uncertain future.“I know I have one foot in the grave, but I’m totally in celebration mode. I’ve come through some horrible health issues. I’m at a place where I’m so happy celebrating my book, my life. I’m so happy to be alive. Anything that comes now is bonus,” she said to WSJ.
