Jeff Bridges is returning to the grid as revealed by the star himself in a recent podcast interview. The veteran actor, known for his iconic role in the ‘Tron‘ franchise, revealed that he is set to appear in the eagerly anticipated third part of the sci-fi series ‘Tron: Ares’.
Bridges first brought the character of Kevin Flynn to life in the original ‘Tron‘, released in 1982. He later reprised his role in ‘Tron: Legacy‘ in 2010. As he is set to do it for a third time, the actor shared his excitement about the prospect as well as working with some of his favorite artists in the film.

Jeff Bridges Is “Nervous” About Working With Jared Leto In ‘Tron: Ares’
Set to be a pivotal part of the third installment of the ‘Tron‘ franchise, Jeff Bridges said he is looking forward to working with Jared Leto, who will play the character of Ares in the upcoming film. Directed by Joachim Rønning and written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, ‘Tron: Ares‘ will come with some new additions to the already beloved world of a digital universe.
Bridges was speaking during a Film Comment podcast interview when he unveiled the news and also talked about his excitement to work with Jared Leto, whose work he highly admires. “I’m heading off this Saturday to play a part in the third installment of the ‘Tron’ story,” Bridges said. “Jared Leto is the star of this third one. I’m really anxious to work with him. I’ve admired his work,” the veteran actor added.

Jeff Bridges ‘Tron: Ares’ Will Use “Practical Sets” For The Film
As of now, the details about Jeff Bridges’ character in the upcoming ‘Tron‘ film are unclear. However, the actor has hinted at a shift towards more practical sets and less emphasis on computer-generated imagery (CGI) in the film. The previous part of the film relied heavily on CGI, which the actor said would change in the upcoming version.
“There’s going to be even less AI stuff (in Tron: Ares),” the actor said, adding that the production is using more “practical sets” this time. “There are beautiful sets that I’ve seen,” he said. “So we’ll see,” he added.
Bridges also asserted that he did not like the way he looked in the previous films. “I didn’t like the way I looked in it. I felt like I looked more like Bill Maher than myself. It was kind of bizarre,” he said.
While fans of the franchise are excited about Bridges’ return, the film creators are set to modify ‘Tron: Ares‘ with a new narrative focused on Leto’s character A fresh cast of characters will also be introduced in the film with actors like Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, and others taking over the roles.
