Princess Kate Middleton has come forward to offer comfort to the families affected by the tragic knife attack during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport. In a heart-warming gesture, the Princess of Wales invites survivors and families affected by the horrific July 29 incident to her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6.
As many as three children were killed and 10 people including eight children were injured in the devastating attack. The Princess’s office at Kensington Palace released the confirmation of the special event for families called on to celebrate the ones showing extraordinary love and empathy. Here’s what she said.
Kate Middleton Reached Southport To Comfort Grieving Families
Visiting Southport in October, Kate Middleton, who underwent successful treatment for cancer, and Prince William met families, including a dance teacher who was a witness to the tragedy that happened at Taylor Swift-themed dance class there.
The royal couple also met emergency rescuers who heroically responded on that fateful summer day. This is among the first steps Kate is taking towards readjusting to royal duties since announcing that chemotherapy for her multiple sclerosis had been completed on September 9.

The annual ‘Together at Christmas‘ carol service, in its fourth year, has become a treasured staple in the royal calendar. Kensington Palace has released the theme for this year’s event, a take on the Christmas story, which is centered on the themes of love, empathy, and community strength.
“This year, Her Royal Highness wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need, and above all else, shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive,” the palace said in a statement.
Kate Middleton’s Visit Shall Be Broadcast On Christmas Eve
Princess Kate Middleton’s visit to the grieving families is to be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVx on Christmas Eve. The event will host about 1,600 guests, including people from all over the UK who have gone beyond the call of duty in their communities.
The Princess and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are going, along with the rest of the royal family.
