Madonna shared the surprising confession during a recent interview with Graham Norton at Koko, a famous concert venue in London. The topic came up when Norton asked about the rhinestone T-shirt Madonna wore at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards in Stockholm, Sweden. The shirt bore Kylie Minogue’s name, leaving fans curious about why she chose to wear it.

Madonna explained how the idea came to her. “I was in my Western mode, rhinestoning everything, and I was trying to think of singers that I’m slightly in love with,” she recalled. “And so naturally I thought of Kylie and had a T-shirt made of her.”

Minogue, who was also present for part of the interview, remembered seeing the tribute for the first time. “[There was] no warning,” she said. “I don’t know what I did, probably just stopped shy of fainting. It was amazing.” Madonna then made her unexpected confession. “I was actually a little bit jealous of you,” she told Minogue, surprising both the audience and Norton.

After hearing Madonna’s comment, Graham Norton immediately asked, “Why?“. Madonna replied, “‘Cause she was so cute.” She then revealed that her former husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie, may have added to those feelings. “I think my ex-husband at the time had a crush on her. I was like, ‘I’ll never be as beautiful as Kylie!‘”

He brought up rumors that Minogue could appear on Madonna’s upcoming album, ‘Confessions II’, which is scheduled for release on July 3. “There have been rumors that Kylie is on Confessions II. Is this you confirming that rumor?” he asked.

Instead of giving an answer, Madonna and Minogue looked at each other and smiled. After a few moments of silence, Madonna jokingly replied, “Why do you have to know everything? You’re very nosy,” without confirming or denying the speculation.
