With season 4 of ‘From’ almost done, the series’ creators have solved one of the show’s biggest mysteries and put to rest a fan theory that’s been around for years.
The new revelations don’t solve all the mysteries of the creepy Town. However, they do provide viewers with a much better idea of what makes some people get stuck there.
‘From’ Creators Confirm What Really Draws People To The Township
In a recent Reddit AMA, showrunners John Griffin and Jeff Pinker confirmed that all of the residents pulled into the Township, aside from Tabitha and Jade, had one thing in common before their arrival: they were at a crossroads in their lives.

“Other than Jade and Tabitha, there is a connective theme among all the other characters who were ‘pulled’ into FROMtown. They were each at a crossroads in their lives. Boyd, for instance, had just retired.”
Boyd had just retired, Jim and Tabitha’s marriage was in trouble, and Father Khatri was escaping a tragedy. The creators say these life-changing moments left them open to the Town’s enigmatic allure.
The showrunners also revealed another important piece of the puzzle. As Jade has theorised recently, the rest of the residents were “minnows” who heard the cries of the dead children and were unknowingly drawn towards them. That explanation sheds new light on several events in the series.
It also indicates that many of the Town’s victims were not the intended targets; they were just caught up in something much bigger than themselves.
The Eloise Debate Is Officially Over
The long-held theory that Griffin’s sister, Eloise, somehow survived was summarily rejected by Griffin and Pinker. After years of speculation, fueled by Victor’s flashbacks, the remains of what was thought to be her body were found, and there are rumors that she was just hiding.

However, the creators have confirmed that there is no hidden twist in the story. “Eloise is dead (RIP). A fascinating thing about ‘mystery box shows’ is that the audience creates mysteries of their own.”
The confirmation may be disappointing for fans, but it also focuses the attention as ‘From’ draws closer to its endgame. Season 5 is now officially the final season, and the series can now focus on solving the mysteries that really matter, like where the Town comes from and whether anyone can escape.
With the end of season 4 fast approaching, there are fewer dead ends to follow and a clearer picture of what the Town has been up to.
