Williams Talks About Arya Stark’s Sexuality
Maisie Williams became a household name by playing Arya Stark in ‘Game of Thrones.’ But there was something that shocked her about that character.
She was asked about the moment that took her by surprise in the ‘Teen Vogue Firsts’ video. Maisie said, “The first time that I was surprised by Arya I guess was probably in the final series where she whips off her clothes and sleeps with Gendry.
Maisie was talking about the second episode titled ‘A Knight Of Seven Kingdoms‘ from the last season. “I thought that Arya was queer, you know? So…yeah. That was a surprise.”
The ‘Cyberbully’ actress has talked about doing an Arya spin-off. “I’m not saying it would never happen, but I’m also not saying it in this interview so that everyone goes… [gasps] ‘The spin-off! It’s coming!’ Because it’s not. And has to be the right time and the right people. It has to be right in the context of all the other spin-offs and the universe of Game of Thrones”
