Lisa Kudrow shared a deeply touching story about her late ‘Friends’ co-star, Matthew Perry. It was a revelation that resonated with fans of the iconic sitcom and those mourning Perry’s passing. 

Kudrow revealed that Perry, who gifted her the beloved “Friends” cookie jar at the end of the series in 2004, had left a note inside it. Tragically, she only discovered it two decades later, after his tragic death in October 2023.

Lisa Kudrow chose not to disclose the note’s contents. “Timing is everything,” she stated,  leaving viewers and fans with a sense of bittersweet nostalgia. The cookie jar, an iconic piece from the ‘Friends’ set, holds immense sentimental value for Kudrow. It was Matthew Perry’s farewell gift to her after the final episode was filmed.

Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode. I had recently found the note that he had in it for me. I hadn’t opened it up or looked inside of it. But yeah, he did. He had a note in there, and I forgot about it,” she shared on The Drew Barrymore Show. For Kudrow, discovering the note so many years later was profoundly moving, especially in light of his passing.

Additionally, this proves that their bond was more than just professional. Kudrow and Perry, alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, created a cultural phenomenon that shaped millions of lives. So, Perry’s gift

“Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY,” Kudrow wrote in her post. She continued, “Thank you for your open heart in a six-way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of ‘talking.’ Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then being completely brilliant. Thank you for the best 10 years a person gets to have.”

Kudrow’s words reflected the admiration and gratitude she felt for Perry and their friendship, even during challenging times. Additionally, in the years since ‘Friends’ ended, the actress has also shared insights into the cast’s relationships. She previously revealed that the cast had only reunited once between the series finale in 2004 and the filming of ‘Friends: The Reunion’ in 2021. However, she emphasized that this didn’t affect their bond in any way.
