How Michael B. Jordan Studied The Character Of Joker
Michael B. Jordan has successfully portrayed the role of a worthy opponent in the movie. This was achieved by Jordan in ‘Black Panther‘ as he played the role of Killmonger. He effortlessly embodied the persona of a charming villain who doesn’t agree with the traditional ways of Wakanda.
Speaking about how he prepared for the role during an interview with Empire Magazine, Jordan said, “You see performances as an actor, and as a fan – you look at Heath Ledger’s performance, say, in The Dark Knight, and it’s like, ‘Wow.’ I want to try to get something like that. Just trying to find my place amongst those roles, and strive for that, even if I don’t make it.”
Jordan is not the first actor to have drawn inspiration from Heath Ledger. The legendary actor has inspired many other supervillains in different ways.
While the Killmonger actor may have drawn inspiration from Joker, he is a more charismatic, lively, and sympathetic character with some valid reasons to fight against the Wakanda. Joker, meanwhile, is an entirely different character. But drawing inspiration from Joker seems to have worked pretty well for Jordan.
