“This Guy’s Even Dumber Than I Thought”: Donald Trump Continues To Slam Jimmy Kimmel After Oscars Jibe

The Oscars this year were hosted by the ever-humorous Jimmy Kimmel, and his superhit monologue took a traditional dig at many celebrities seated in the audiences and otherwise. While the friendly banter was taken in good spirits by everyone seated at the awards ceremony, one particular jab by Kimmel seems to have offended the target.

At the end of the show, Kimmel spontaneously added a joke about former president Donald Trump while he had some time to kill on his hands. The sharp joke was a risk that Kimmel took despite his wife refusing him to do so. Now, Trump has slammed Kimmel with a comeback again.

Former President Donald Trump has seemingly not yet let go of his criticisms of Jimmy Kimmel’s hosting style at the 2024 Oscars. In an interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz, Trump once again took aim at Kimmel, calling him “not a talented guy“.

Trump explained his decision to post critical comments about Kimmel during the Academy Awards. “Jimmy Kimmel — every night, he hits me, I guess,” Trump said. “His ratings are terrible, he’s not a talented guy. I hear he hits me all the time, so I figured I’d hit him, because I thought he was a lousy host.”

As the Oscars were being telecast live this Sunday, Trump wrote a scathing comment about Kimmel’s performance on truthsocial.com. “Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump wrote.

His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous,” he added.

The comments were read out aloud the comment at the Oscars and in response took a jab at the former president’s legal issues. “I’m surprised you’re still [up] — isn’t it past your jail time?” he said.

During his recent Fox News interview, Trump said he was surprised to hear his comments being read back by Kimmel during the Oscars telecast shortly after he posted them. “I never expected he was gonna be reading it. Just prior to the Movie of the Year — which is the big one, right?he said.

That’s the big one. I think they get the man, the woman, now the Movie of the Year — he reads my Truth on air… and now the big story is that they all begged him not to do it,” he added.

“I said, ‘This guy’s even dumber than I thought,’” he recalled. “The thing went viral, it’s been all over the world now, and all he had to do is keep his mouth shut.”

Days after the Oscar ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel revealed that many including his wife advised him against reading Trump’s message during the event. But he chose to do so anyway. “I’m reading the Trump tweet,” he recalled saying during an interview with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
