“No ‘Avengers’ Without Her”: Mark Ruffalo On The Future Of ‘She-Hulk’

‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ is set to premiere on August 18 on Disney+. It is the latest Marvel series after the success of ‘Ms. Marvel‘. The show recently had a grand premiere on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday. The red carpet was taken over by Tatiana Maslany, who plays the title character.

Tatiana was joined by the Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo. The two had a fun chat and talked about their respective Hulk characters. Mark also talked about the future of She-Hulk and where we can see it going. He hinted that there actually might not be an ‘Avengers‘ without her.

Maslany plays the role of Jennifer Walters in the series, who is an attorney and cousin of Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. She is a lawyer who faces some friendly competition as she learns to use her new powers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark joined Maslany at the premiere to talk about the characters. Maslany jokingly asked Mark to “give me one year” of being the main Hulk.

Ruffalo agreed, “All right, you can have a year. No, she’s in now, there’s not going to be another Avengers without her.” It surprised Maslany, who asked, “What?” as Ruffalo confirmed, “That’s what I’m hearing.”

It’s great news for the fans of the character. But we will have to wait to watch and decide how good the show is. ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ is different in certain ways as it shows characters breaking walls. There will also be a focus on dating and sex positivity.

When the two were asked who is a superior Hulk, Maslany said, “It’s kind of a toss-up a little bit — maybe him a little bit more. And maybe her a little more, sometimes it’s more her, mostly.”
The trailer shows the character breaking the fourth wall and acknowledging she is on TV. “I added that line because people were too interested in Mark and I was, ‘No, we need to steer it back.’”
Tatiana also talked about her reaction to watching her CGI self in the show. “I couldn’t believe it. I saw an early rendering of She-Hulk about a month into us filming, and I couldn’t believe that I could see her breathing and thinking.”
She continued, “I just believed it and was so grateful that the artists were so incredibly nuanced in their work. I felt like everything I did was there, which was exciting.”
