Goldberg was recently appearing on the ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers‘, when she revealed the unusual story. She also revealed that it is illegal to spread ashes at Disneyland, but Goldberg revealed how she used a special method to do it. Here’s what she said.
Whoopi Goldberg Spread Her Mother’s Ashes At Disneyland
As per a report by People, the multiple award winning actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg had an interesting story to tell. She revealed that she spread her mother’s ashes at Disneyland on the recent episode of the Late Night with Seth Meyers.
‘The View’ host started her story by saying, “No one should do this,” which caused the crowd to laugh. Goldberg further emphasized, “Don’t do it.” She then explained, “My mother loved Disneyland, and so we took her to Disneyland.”
“And when I was a kid, the World’s Fair was here, and it was the introduction of Small World, and she loved Small World,” Goldberg said, as she recalled taking her mother to Disneyland. “The first time I went was in the early ’80s, but my mother had always said, ‘I’m going to take you and Clyde’ — that’s my brother — ‘I’m gonna take you to Disneyland,’ and she never could afford to do it,” she added.

How Did Whoopi Goldberg Spread Her Mother’s Ashes?
It is not legal to scatter ashes at Disneyland. So how did the Emmy Award winner do it? Whoopi Goldberg explained that she would “scoop some of her up” and pretend she had a cold by faking a big sneeze.
She also confessed of spreading the ashes in the same method near the “flowers where it says Disneyland.” However, she could not keep it a secret for too long and told the officials there.
“I wanted to make sure, actually, that I hadn’t done something that was dangerous ’cause it hadn’t occurred to me. But there’s a reason they don’t want ashes just floatin’ around,” she said. Disneyland had always been an important part of Goldberg’s life, childhood and career. Whoopi Goldberg was also inducted as a Disney legend in 2017.
