Amidst the ongoing drama within Miley Cyrus‘ family, her sister Noah Cyrus has sparked controversy by liking the picture of her sister’s ex-husband Liam Hemsworth on Instagram. While Miley and Liam’s relationship is already an infamous one in Hollywood, the ongoing disparities between Cyrus’ family members have made the whole matter even more dramatic.
Miley’s younger sister liked Liam Hemsworth’s recent gym selfie on Instagram, and fans are losing it pondering over what it might mean. Hemsworth, who was married to Miley Cyrus from 2018 to 2020, is seen flaunting his muscular arms in the Instagram post.
Meanwhile, the Cyrus family drama has been brewing since Miley’s split from her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, in 2022. Tensions escalated further after Tish’s wedding to actor Dominic Purcell in August 2023, where only some of her children were present.
Tish married him even though she knew he dated her daughter Noah in the past. It was disclosed to public after the marriage that Noah and Purcell had a casual relationship before his marriage to Tish.
Noah and her brother Braison were absent from Tish’s intimate wedding ceremony, which took place at Miley’s Malibu home. Noah even shared a photo on her Instagram Stories on the wedding day wearing a Billy Ray T-shirt alongside Braison, seemingly trying to show indifference to whatever is going on between the family.
The rift within the Cyrus family gained further public attention when Miley omitted her father during her acceptance speech at the Grammys in February 2023. While expressing gratitude to her mom, sister, and boyfriend, Miley made no mention of Billy Ray.

Miley Cyrus Has Sided With Her Mother Tish, While Noah Is On Her Father’s Side After Their Divorce
On the other hand, Noah has maintained a close relationship with her father after their parents’ split. According to sources, Noah has been “very loyal” to her dad since the divorce and the duo has “always had a really close relationship.”
“It hasn’t been easy for any of the kids,” the insider told People at the time. “Their parents’ separation was really hard, but it was also long overdue.”
Moreover, after the news about Noah’s past affair with Dominic Purcell came to light, Miley reportedly said she was entirely unaware of this drama. She also reportedly confronted her mom after it but eventually chose to let her mother be happy by doing whatever she pleased.
Miley remains supportive of her family, and has often prioritized her mom’s happiness. “She confronted her mom about it. She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy,” a source was quoted as saying when the news first came out.
