Olivia Rodrigo Shows Open Support For Kamala Harris
Singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for the US Presidency shortly after Joe Biden’s announcement of withdrawing from re-election. The 21-year-old artist is known for her outspoken views on women’s abortion rights and has never shied away from voicing them even on her artistic platforms.
Showing her support for the newly elected Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Rodrigo took to social media by sharing an Instagram Story featuring a TikTok clip of Harris’s speech on the importance of accessible abortion and reproductive rights for women.
“In her first campaign rally, Kamala Harris pledges to restore reproduction rights if she becomes president,” Rodrigo wrote in her story alongside the video. In the shared video, Vice President Harris emphatically says, “And we who believe in reproductive freedom will stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans because we trust women to make decisions about their own body and not have their government tell them what to do.”
“And when Congress passes the law to restore reproductive freedom, as president of the United States, I will sign it into law,” Harris further promised, getting loud cheers from the audience.

Olivia Rodrigo Has Been Vocal About Abortion Rights
This is not the first time that Olivia Rodrigo has expressed her political stance openly. Earlier this year, during her GUTS world tour in Southern California, Rodrigo announced the launch of Fund 4 Good, an initiative aimed at supporting reproductive health.
Named after her 2021 hit ‘good 4 u’, the fund plans to allocate a portion of ticket proceeds from the North American stops of the Guts tour to help overcome barriers to abortion access. The fund will include covering the costs of the procedure, travel, childcare, and lost wages for those in need of abortions, according to Rolling Stone.
Rodrigo’s endorsement adds her to a growing list of celebrities backing Kamala Harris for President. Other notable supporters who have actively endorsed Harris include George Clooney, singer Barbra Streisand, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, director Spike Lee, actress Jamie Lee Curtis, British singer-songwriter Charli XCX, and musician John Legend.
