Rihanna is embracing motherhood like a pro and is even open to the prospect of having more children in the future. The acclaimed singer did not shy away from admitting that she would have as many children “as God wants me to“, while especially highlighting her desire to have a daughter after having two sons.
In a recent interview with Interview Magazine, the 36-year-old singer was asked by stylist Mel Ottenberg how many more kids she wanted to have. “As many as God wants me to have,” Rihanna said, adding that she does not have a fixed number in mind when it comes to having children.
“I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” she said.
Rihanna shares two sons, RZA and Riot, with partner A$AP Rocky. The Grammy-winning artist also opened up about the profound impact parenthood has had on her relationship with A$AP Rocky. Speaking to the New York Post’s Page Six in November, Rihanna revealed that becoming parents has deepened their connection, describing Rocky’s role as a father as a “major turn on.”
Rihanna Has Opened Up About Motherhood In Several Interviews Before
Rihanna’s statement about having more children also echoes her previous revelations about embracing individuality, both in her work and in parenting. In a conversation with Vogue China in March, she spoke up about the importance of allowing children to express their unique selves as a mother.
“The most beautiful thing…is that [children] come into the world with their own individuality and sincerity, without any logic or conformity, which usually makes you feel that you must fit into a certain group,” she said.
“I want to continue to help them navigate that and make sure that they know they can be whoever they want to be…they should embrace it completely, because it’s beautiful, and it’s unique. I love them just that way,” the Grammy winner added.
In another interview, she also praised her husband as a great father, asserting that she highly admires his leadership, patience, and love. She noted that their children are also “obsessed” with him.
