2024 began with celebrities sweeping off the awards for their performance, diligence, and perseverance. In this era, everyone is a critic, but only the Critics Choice Awards do it professionally delivering glamour, unexpected awards, and a heartwarming reunion between Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland.
‘Oppenheimer’ dominated the event, taking away most of the awards from various categories with eight wins. Meanwhile, ‘Barbie‘ also put up a fair fight taking away half a dozen awards.
A Heartwarming Reunion Of Iron Man And Peter Parker
After five years of emotional farewell scenes in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland reunited at the Critics’ Choice Awards sharing a heartwarming and emotional moment. During their reunion, the two MCU actors shared a hug that would remind fans of their characters’ scenes in the final moments. Tony Stark and Peter Parker’s dynamic was one of the most beloved aspects of Phase Three.
Ever since Holland and Robert Jr. co-starred in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and ‘Avengers: Endgame’, their on-screen and off-screen bonds remained constant. Iron Man became a father figure to Peter Parker, who always looked up to him and after the blip, Tony Stark was devasted by the events. They haven’t shared the screen since 2020 when Holland loaned his voice to Jim in Downey’s ‘Dr. Dolittle’.
Took a few candid pics tonight – here’s a personal fav. At one point Tom Holland came over to our table for a big hug with RDJ, and it warmed my Marvel-loving heart. #CriticsChoice pic.twitter.com/QHxZwgX0MN

Robert Downey Jr. Praises His ‘Oppenheimer’ Co-Stars
Robert Downey Jr. played Iron Man for over a decade but felt that his performance went unnoticed because of the genre. However, his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ has finally gotten him the attention he deserves. The two-time Academy Award-nominated actor won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supportive Actor, and he won the same award at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
During his Critics’ Choice Awards acceptance speech, Downey gave credit to his ‘Oppenheimer’ co-stars. The actor said “You are my Oppen-homies. Every day of filming was like having my ego’s a** handed to me at the door, and I think it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, so, for that, I’ve got to thank Chris, Emma, and Cillian. They are the holy trinity. They were leading from the front the entire time. My Brit sister, Emily Blunt, and my senate hearing scene partner, Alden Ehrenreich. Thank you Universal.”
