Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s romance has been the talk of the town for the past few months. Both celebrities seem to be happy in their relationship as they frequently show up to cheer for each other.
While fans are mostly taking the relationship well, some also had a few doubts about Taylor’s impact on Kelce’s games as she cheered from the audience. Many have asserted that Kelce has not been performing well because of her presence in the audience. However, Kansas City Chiefs icon Christian Okoye has now set the record straight.

“Those People Are Pointing Fingers And Making It Up,” Says Cristin Okoye
Cristin Okoye responded to the critics by trashing the notion that Taylor Swift is responsible for Travis Kelce’s recent failures on the field. The former Chiefs player, who was a part of the team from 1987 to 1992, was speaking to TMZ Sports when he defended Taylor.
“Taylor Swift is not on the field,” Okoye said, as he held the opposing teams responsible for Kelce’s performance struggles. “Travis is playing like he always plays, and teams are just doubling up on him now knowing that our receivers are dropping the balls. So when you double up on him and [Patrick Mahomes] can’t get the ball to him, it’s a problem,” he added.
Okoye also acknowledged Kelce’s earlier success in the season, adding that his recent drop in receptions could be because of increased defensive actions from the opposition. Okoye also addressed the comparisons between Swift and Yoko Ono, who was blamed for breaking up the Beatles after she married John Lennon in 1969.
“When you’re doing bad, people have to find excuses and they have to point fingers, especially those who don’t like the situation about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” he said. “Those people are pointing fingers and making it up right now. I have to tell you, they’re wrong.”

Statistics Prove Taylor Has Had A Positive Influence On Kelce’s Game
The former Chiefs running back said that blaming Swift for the team’s struggles was baseless. Okoye’s statements align with statistical data that proves that Swift has in fact impacted Kelce’s performance positively.
A USA Today report highlighted above-average performance metrics in games attended by the Grammy-winning artist, with the Chiefs securing victories in five of the eight games she witnessed.
In October, Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, has also spoken up about the positive influence Swift’s presence has had on Kelce’s game. Chiefs coach Andy Reid has also once praised Kelce, giving a nod to Swift during a post-game interview.
Swift continues to support Kelce at Chiefs games, and the couple’s relationship therefore remains a topic quite in the public domain. The couple started dating in July and went Instagram official in September during a Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears.
