Taylor Swift Responds To Accusation Of Private Jet Carbon Emissions
A report released by Yard on Friday shows that Taylor Swift has taken 170 flights on her private plane since January. Racking up more than 22,923 minutes in the air. This nearly equates to 16 days though Swift’s average flight time is around 80 minutes. The 32-year-old singer is quite vocal about the need for climate action. So her contribution of 8,293.54 tonnes of carbon which is 1,184.8 times more than an average person is quite hypocritical on her part.
“Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals,” a spokesperson for Swift told The Hollywood Reporter. “To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.”
But the pop singer is not the only one. In fact, former boxer Floyd Mayweather has contributed almost as much. The 45-year-old has shed 7,076.8 tonnes of CO2 from his private jet this year. This is roughly 1,011 times more than the average person’s yearly output.
Other notable names on the list include Jay Z, country singer Blake Shelton, director Steven Spielberg, Kim Kardashian, Mark Wahlberg, Oprah, and Travis Scott. Despite private jets being used by all these celebrities for years, Scott has come under intense scrutiny. This comes especially after Kylie Jenner posted a photo on social media of her and the rapper’s private jets last week.
Jenner took to social media to post a black and white photo of her and Scott embracing in front of their private jets. The caption read, “You wanna take mine or yours?” The ‘Kardashians‘ star received heat from critics after the photo went viral on Twitter, even though she did not make the list.

Many started questioning why she has positioned herself as a voice for the planet if her actions are going to be total opposites.
