A source recently disclosed to The Sun that Joe Alwyn asked Taylor Swift to marry him couple of months ago. But only recently, they told their close ones about the news. โBasically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends,โ the source said. โEveryone has been sworn to secrecy, too.โ The informant also stated that Swift also wears her โbeautiful ringโ in private.
โAgain, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasnโt even told some of her team about the engagement,โ the source continued. โThey want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible. This is just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely wonโt be any Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! Magazines there. It will be simple and elegant โ like them.โ
When Joe Alwyn Addressed Engagement Rumors
There was a rumor going on in April that the couple was secretly engaged. Joe Alwyn adressed it an interview. He said, โIf I had a pound for every time I think Iโve been told Iโve been engaged, then Iโd have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldnโt say, and if the answer was no, I wouldnโt say.โ
In her acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards in 2021, Swift also thanked Alwyn, saying, โJoe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write,โ before continuing, โAnd I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine.โ
Till now there are no comments from the representatives of both the stars about the news of their secret engagement. So, itโs still not confirmed whether it is true or not.
