Pop sensation Taylor Swift is at the peak of her career. 2023 was a great year for the pop sensation in terms of her career as well as her romantic life. But success and fame do not come without a price. Along with the positives, Taylor has also been subjected to bitter criticism and some harmful behavior from her critics as well as fans.
In another fiasco involving a hacker, Taylor Swift is now threatening to take legal action. The person in question is a 21-year-old college student who allegedly carried out intrusive tracking of her flights. Named Jack Sweeney, this kid is not new to the game. He has previously targeted the tech mogul Elon Musk too, and is still out in the open, carrying out his mischiefs.

Taylor Swift Threatens Of Legal Action Against 21-Year-Old College Kid For Hacking Her Private Jets
Taylor Swift is no stranger to the limelight — both good and bad. While the pop sensation is mostly in the headlines for all the good reasons, her privacy often gets at stake given her popularity. In one such incident, a college student named Jack Sweeney — who operates a network of bot accounts monitoring the travel activities of high-profile celebrities — has made Taylor her target.
Though Swift tries to avoid such disturbances and lets go of whatever she can, she has spoken up this time and threatened to take legal action against this kid. Swift’s legal team labeled Sweeney’s flight tracking as “stalking,” prompting them to send a cease-and-desist notice to the IT major in December. The notice urged Sweeney to refrain from sharing the details of Swift’s private jet movements.
Sweeney is a honed cybercriminal even at such a young age. In the past, he has targeted tech moguls like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, and has still managed to evade any action or harm.

As Taylor issued the threat, Elon Musk also spoke up defending her concerns. Musk asserted that Swift does have the “right to be concerned” and that Sweeney is an “awful human being“.

Taylor Swift is right to be concerned.
When Sweeney had taken up Musk as his target, the kid’s X accounts were suspended by the social media platform. But Sweeney has now resurfaced, reminding Musk that he could not do the kid any harm despite his past threats.
“Let’s remember you offered me 5k to stop. Also threatened to sue me, and here we are a year later,” Sweeney told Musk is a tweet.

Musk had attempted to negotiate with him, offering $5,000 to stop Sweeney from tracking his plane. In response, Sweeney proposed $50,000 or an internship, and eventually access to Musk’s private jet if he wants the tracking to be stopped.
In 2022, Swift faced criticism for her frequent use of private jets which largely contributing to carbon emissions. A sustainability marketing firm, Yard, underlines that Swift is significantly contributing as one of the “worst private jet CO2 emission offenders“.
According to Yard, Swift’s jet made 170 flights between January and July 2022, resulting in total emissions of 8,293.54 tonnes for the year – a staggering 1,184.8 times more than the average person.
As she has threatened legal action, it now remains to be seen whether Sweeney faces any harm or manages to get away again as he has done in the past.
