Thor: Love And Thunder’ director, Taika Waititi is an ardent music lover as well. Recently in an interview, the director spoke about the esteemed musician Kate Bush. The director mentioned how he feels the need to protect her music.
He particularly expressed unhappiness about the fact that ‘Stranger Things 4’ featured one of Kate Bush’s songs. Taika Waititi also expressed how he wished to add more ABBA songs to his movie.

Taika Waititi Is A Bit Salty Over ‘Stranger Things’ Snatching A Particular Kate Bush Song From Him
Ever since ‘Stranger Things 4’ aired, Kate Bush became quite popular again due to her song being featured. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ also features a hit number by the Guns N’ Roses. In an interview with NME, Waititi was asked if ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ was going to do to Guns N’ Roses what ‘Stranger Things’ did for Kate Bush. The director did not hold back his real feelings.
“You mean how they ruined Kate Bush? I love that show, but as someone who feels a real ownership of Kate Bush music… I’m really annoyed! I’ve become one of those old arseholes who’s like: ‘These kids never listened to Kate Bush, they’ve heard one song on a TV show! They don’t know Kate Bush! I know Kate Bush!’” Waititi said.
Waititi even confirmed that there was going to be a Kate Bush dance scene “before Stranger Things [happened]”. He also revealed that they planned to use Bush’s ‘A Woman’s Work’ for a scene involving Jane Foster. But soon canceled the idea as ‘Stranger Things’ already used a Bush song.
The ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Director Wanted To Include More ABBA Songs
Taika Waititi disclosed that he had planned on introducing ABBA as “a real tough Viking band” in the movie. Taika Waititi revealed to NME that “there was actually gonna be a lot of ABBA in the film” although he used only one song.
“Yeah I got one in there, but I wanted more of an ABBA theme throughout. I thought it’d be funny if Thor’s favourite music was what he perceived to be a ‘Viking band’. He’d be like, ‘They’re a real tough Viking band called ABBA!’” Waititi said.
