Kanye West or Ye is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer. He is mostly known for the controversies that surround him. Whether it be court cases or relationship feuds, Ye never really misses being in the spotlight and in social media trends.
The third quarter earnings report that came out on 20 October 2022 revealed that Balenciaga has officially cut all ties with the rapper. They stated, “Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.” Let’s get to know why.

Why Did Balenciaga Cut Off Kanye West?
Ye and Balenciaga have one of the oldest relationships in the fashion industry. Most of it is because of Ye’s personal connections with the fashion house’s creative director Demna Gvasalia. The company took the decision after Ye’s antisemitic and offensive remarks during the podcast Drink Champs released last week. Kanye claimed in the episode that George Floyd wasn’t murdered but killed by fentanyl. He even went on to make more antisemitic remarks.
Balenciaga removed West’s runway looks from Balenciaga’s Spring 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week. The looks have been deleted from both Vogue Runway, as well as the Balenciaga website. The company has even removed a section of the Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collaborations.

Twitter Is All Riled Up
Twitter had a pretty bitter reaction with people blaming West for not having any accountability for what he said. The people mocked him and felt bad for him too.
There are however a few fans that came up in defense of the rapper. They argued that Kanye is choosing to fight for his people instead of just enjoying his riches.
