Israel’s war has been intensifying since Hamas attacked the country on October 7, 2023. Both sides have faced the grim consequences of war, including the loss of lives. However, Palestine has to face the brunt of the heinous attacks from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The war has divided the Hollywood industry, with many pro-Palestine celebrities getting attacked or sacked from their jobs, including Tom Cruise’s agent, Maha Dakhil.
During the war between Hamas and Israel, many celebrities, like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Mia Khalifa, and others, have faced the brunt of their pro-Palestinian stance. While the war intensifies, a different stance, other than Israel, is leading to celebrities losing their jobs. Mia Khalifa lost a job at Playboy for her support of Palestine. Now, a well-known agent from the CAA, Maha Dakhil, was also on the verge of losing her job, but her talent, Tom Cruise, saved her job.

Tom Cruise Supported The Agent To Keep Her Job
Maha Dakhil, a very well-known CAA agent who represented stars like Anne Hathaway, Olivia Wilde, Natalie Portman, and others, was on the verge of getting fired. In October 2023, Maha reposted a story that read, “You’re currently learning who supports genocide.”
This created an uproar at the agency. Maha Dakhil was fired as the co-chief of the motion pictures department, but Dakhil retained the role as an agent.
While the agent faced wrath from the complainants who complained to the agency about her stance, one of her talents, Tom Cruise, showed support for her. As per a report by Variety, “Tom Cruise made it known to CAA that he was backing her.”
The ‘Mission Impossible’ actor reportedly went in person to meet Maha on November 15, 2023, to show his support for the agent.

Melissa Barrera Gets Sacked From ‘Scream’ Franchise For Her Pro-Palestine Post
Not only agents, but the talents have to bear consequences for their anti-war stance. Melissa Barrera, who revitalized the ‘Scream’ franchise in 2022, is getting fired for her inflammatory Instagram stories as she supported Palestine. In her Instagram stories, Melissa wrote, “Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp.”
Melissa continued, “Cornering everyone together, with no where to go, no electricity no water … People have learnt nothing from our histories. And just like our histories, people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING.”
A spokesperson from Spyglass, the company producing the ‘Scream’ franchise, released a statement, saying, “Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech.”
