The Drake vs Kendrick Lamar feud has not escaped any nook or corner of the world. As the two rappers continue to clash, many are surprised at the amount to which the feud has blown out of proportion. Fans who have been following the works of both rappers may be aware of what the feud is about. But for many, it is something never heard before.
One such celebrity who had no idea about the feud is Tom Hanks. The ‘Forrest Gump‘ star apparently asked his son what the feud is all about. Chet Hanks, the actor’s son took to Instagram to share a screen grab of their chat. Here’s what happened.
Tom Hanks Asks His Son To Explain The Drake/Kendrick Lamar Feud
Tom Hank’s son, Chet Hanks recently took to Instagram to share an exchange he had with his father about the ongoing feud between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar. In a series of Instagram story posts, Chet posted text messages wherein his father asked for an explanation of the escalating rap beef.
The ‘Saving Private Ryan’ star can be seen asking from his son a detailed rundown of the feud. In the screenshot of a chat with a contact saved as “Pops”, Tom can be seen asking his son, “Big Main, can you explain the Drake/Kendrick Lamar feud to me?”
In response Chet wrote a comprehensive summary of the infamous feud, asserting the major points of contention between the two artists.
In Chet’s explanation, he detailed how the feud began with Drake and J. Cole tagging themselves, along with Kendrick, as the “Big 3” in rap. Kendrick in turn didmissed this trio, proclaiming, “F— the Big 3, it’s just big ME.”

Tom Hanks Has A Bewildered Response To His Son’s Explanation Of The Lamar-Drake Feud
Chet Hank further elaborated on the back-and-forth diss tracks between the rappers as he mentioned Drake’s track ‘First Person Shooter‘ and Kendrick’s retaliatory diss track ‘Not Like Us’. He also mentioned some key insults, such as when Drake mocked Kendrick’s height and Kendrick called Drake a “deadbeat dad”, a pedophile, and ridiculed his Canadian accent.
Chet also showed some bias as he praised Kendrick’s successive tracks, including ‘6:16 in L.A.’ and ‘Meet the Grahams’. He specifically mentioned his final diss ‘Not Like Us’, which Chet described as a “methodical dismantling of Drake’s psyche“.
To make the example more understandable to his father, Chet drew parallels between Kendrick’s triumph to a moment from Tom’s own life: walking into a high school basketball game in Oakland to an enthusiastic crowd.
Tom’s response was pure bewilderment: “Holy cow! These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning??”
While the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has paused for now, it has left fans, and Tom Hanks, plenty of time to catch up on the details.
