According to a report by Daily Express, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ actor is out of the race to play the next James Bond. This news will surely upset Tom’s fans who were eager to see his version of the 007 agent.

The rumor had started in 2020 about the English actor being the next Bond. Recently, he refused to clearly talk about the matter and said, “If I mention it, it’s gone.”

Tom further added, “You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race.”

Earlier, Naomie Harris, who starred in ‘Skyfall,’ said that she would like to see Tom as the next James Bond. Tom’s departure from the project has cleared the way for another actor to bag the role. If reports are to be believed, James Norton might be the next James Bond. He has acted in shows like ‘Grantchester’ and ‘McMafia’. He has a chance of 7/1 of getting the role.

Earlier this year, it was widely reported that Henry Cavill is leading the contender’s list to play the next James Bond. The list included names like Hardy, Regé-Jean Page, and Idris Elba.

Despite no official confirmation to this date, the chances of ‘The Witcher’ star bagging the role are still high.

The British actor has expressed his desire to play the secret agent on several occasions. He has enough experience doing action films like ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’.

The hunt for a new James Bond started after Daniel Craig decided to step down after doing five 007 films. His last appearance in the role was ‘No Time To Die,’ which was released last year after multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
