In a recent interview with Esquire, Tom Holland revealed that during the auditions, he was eager to see who would be cast alongside him, and Zendaya quickly stood out from the crowd.
Recalling the experience, Holland admitted he was excited from the start. He said, “Obviously, I was super excited at the prospect of working with her and getting to know her. She smashed her audition out of the park and got the part before she’d even left the room.”
According to Holland, Zendaya made such a strong impression that the decision seemed immediate. He remembered producer Amy Pascal’s reaction after Zendaya finished her audition and walked out. “I remember when she closed the door to leave, Amy Pascal was immediately like, ‘Well, she’s getting the job,’” Holland recalled.

During the same interview, Holland revealed that the images were convincing enough to fool his grandmother, who believed the couple had secretly married and wondered why she had not been invited.
However, the confusion did not appear to extend to the rest of his family. When the interviewer asked whether any other relatives needed a similar explanation, Holland delivered a response that immediately sparked curiosity. “No, because they were all there,” he said.
Naturally, the remark fueled fresh speculation among fans. Even so, Holland chose not to elaborate on what he meant. When the interviewer attempted to get more details, the actor quickly shut down the conversation, replying, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
