Scarlett Johansson Shares Her Fitness Regime For ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Along with Captain America and Iron Man, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ marked the end of Scarlett Johansson’s journey as Black Widow. Although it was the last hurrah with the original Avenger team, Johansson gave her sweat and blood for the role.
The ‘Lucy’ actress was involved in integrated foundational strength training. She had to do yoga, gymnastics, Olympic weight lifting, and plyometrics. The training did not stop here, Johansson also had to include military poses, medicine ball throwing, deadlifts, pull-ups, pistols, kettlebell swings, and bear crawling in her workout regime.
This intense training was not enough, Scarlett Johansson also had to starve herself for 12 hours and sometimes for 14-15 hours as well. When Johannsson did not have to starve, she only ate vegan food, smaller meals that included fresh fruits, salad, and oatmeal.

Although Scarlett Johansson has been recognized for her role as Black Widow, she has been a part of numerous controversial projects including The Skin, Lost In Translation, and Ghost In The Shell. As per the reports by Entertainment Weekly, The Black Widow star said that her “perceived maturity led to her being hyper-sexualized, despite sex never being a huge part of my actual personality.”
When her career got a kick-start when she was only nine years old, Scarlett Johansson said that she was “pigeonholed into hyper-sexualized roles early in her career.” The actress also admitted that the recent climate has also evolved referring to younger actresses like Zendaya and Florence Pugh said, “I see younger actors that are in their 20s, it feels like they’re allowed to be all these different things. We’re not even allowed to really pigeonhole actors anymore.”
