Without a doubt, ‘The Boys‘ is one of the most popular shows right now. It has kept people hinged with its plot like no other. But nothing lasts forever, as the show’s creators announced last month that it will conclude with season 5.
Antony Starr, who plays the iconic role of the Homelander on the show, recently opened up about what he thinks about the show concluding so soon. After three successful seasons and a fourth one being aired every Thursday, Starr thinks that season five is the right time to end the show. Here’s what he said.

Antony Starr Isn’t Thinking Much About The End Of ‘The Boys‘
We all love Homelander just as much as the actor playing it, Antony Starr. The show propelled Starr to immense popularity with his role, and naturally, he isn’t ready to say goodbye to his character. Antony Starr couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that the fifth season would be the last season of ‘The Boys‘.
In a recent interview with IGN, Starr revealed that he isn’t thinking much about the inevitable end of the show. “Oh, I can’t think of that yet. I can’t go there yet because, first of all, we’ve got a long way to go, and I want to make the most of it and enjoy it. I’m enjoying what’s happening with the show at the moment,” ‘The Boys‘ actor said.
Moreover, he also revealed that he has gotten attached to the role, along with the whole cast. The entire cast worked together for the success of ‘The Boys‘ and saying goodbye to the show as well as each other isn’t going to be easy for them.
“We worked so hard on Season 4 across the board, everyone from the caterers to everyone that works in the production office to the actors, to cast, the producers, directors…” Starr said while talking about the show. “Everyone’s put so much into it, so it’s great to have this very warped creature of a season come out and be released on the world,” he added.

“If I Stop To Think About It, It’ll Be Really Sad”: Antony Starr Admits Feeling Sad About The End Of ‘The Boys’
Working together for six years during the pandemic wasn’t easy for ‘The Boys‘ cast and crew. But it was perhaps the difficulties that created their bond and brought them closer. As Antony Starr looked back at the legacy his shows will leave behind during the interview, adding that not being able to work with his co-stars would be sad.
“If I stop to think about it, it’ll be really sad. It’s been such a long road with the show. We started before COVID, and we released Season 2 in COVID. We did all the press for that in seclusion and isolation in our homes, and then all of a sudden we came back,” he said.
“We shot in COVID. It’s been such a ride together with this group of people that it’ll be very sad. It’ll be a sad day to hang up the spandex,” he added.
Though the show is ending, there always are possibilities for a spinoff. Until then, fans can enjoy what’s left of ‘The Boys’ before its conclusion. The show airs with a new episode on Thursdays.
