Chelsea Handler Sets The Record Clear About Threesomes Not Being A Reason For Breakup With Ted Harbert
During the recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Handler clarified the statement that she made about an infamous threesome that allegedly led to her breakup with Ted Harbert. She reportedly received a text from former NBC Broadcasting Chairman Ted Harbert, which read, “That was not cool. Please don’t do that again. Some things are better left private.”
On Jimmy Fallon‘s show, Chelsea Handler clarified her statement and the breakup. She said, “I like to tell my personal history as if it’s my only personal history. And I always forget there are other people involved in my stories.” Handler said that she had to search for what response triggered the message from her ex-boyfriend.
Chelsea Handler said, “So I really want to clarify, I want to go on the record that is not why our relationship ended. We did have a lot of threesomes and that while that’s private, it’s already out there.”
She added, “So I’m gonna double down on that and just say that we didn’t break up because I left him for the masseuse. That didn’t happen.” The comedian explained that the threesome confession gave Ted “a lot of street cred.” At the end, she said, “But I love Ted Harbert. I love you, if you’re watching. In June 2023, Chelsea Handler sat down with Andy Cohen on ‘SiriusXM Radio’ where she confessed that she and Ted Harbert had many threesomes, but this one fateful threesome led to the end of their relationship. On Andy’s show, she revealed, “I’ve slept with a woman but I haven’t dated a woman.”
Chelsea Handler continued, “I was very turned on by this woman. I ended up hooking up with her several times without the guy I was dating. That’s when I knew it was time to break up with the guy.” She also revealed the name of the man he was dating.
Handler added, “I don’t think I ever revealed that, but I mean, hopefully, he’s listening now. His name is Ted Harbert. He’s in Portugal though. He might not have access to this … he and his wife are building a house in Portugal.”
