What Do We Know About Sexual Assault Allegations Against Martin?
Ricky was the target of a complaint made by Dennis Yadiel Sanchez Martin. Because of the age of the claimed occurrence, the complaint does not automatically result in an arrest, but police will look into it to see if charges should be brought. After confessing on oath that he had never been sexually attacked by Martin, Sanchez had earlier asked for a restraining order against the singer in July. However, a judge later archived the case. Attorneys for the artist sued his nephew on September 8; they labeled him as “troubled.” He was charged with extortion, malicious persecution, legal misconduct, and damages.
According to them, Martin lost out on contracts and projects worth at least $10 million as a result of Sanchez’s accusations, and his reputation also suffered a 20 million dollar hit. According to the lawsuit, Sanchez would message Martin up to ten times each day, the majority of which were “meaningless diatribes without any particular purpose.” Additionally, he was charged with disclosing Martin’s personal phone number, which led to the change. Martin’s attorney José Andréu-Fuentes is denying the allegations in a statement obtained by Deadline. “These claims are wildly offensive and completely untethered from reality,” he said. “When this man previously made similar allegations, his legal case had to be withdrawn – not least because he himself admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way.”
